About The Position


The Data Analyst position is a high impact career-building role for a motivated team player who enjoys the challenge of building enterprise solutions in an entrepreneurial environment CCCE’s Data & Analytics Team is responsible for financial reporting & analytics, business intelligence, and customer data analytics.. The Data Analyst is a key member of the team, responsible for extracting financial and customer data from data warehouses, developing prescriptive and predictive analytics, and building automated reports and dashboards. For a given project, the Analyst gathers customer / project requirements, designs a solution, extracts, and assembles data, iteratively analyzes the data, presents the results, and, if applicable, moves it into production as an automated report or dashboard. Analytical techniques can range from trends, summaries, and linear regressions to cluster analysis and random forests. Analysts work as a team with others in the Finance organization and with internal customers across the company.

Supervision Received

This position reports to the Director of Data & Analytics and no direct supervision is exercised.

Example of Duties

  • Analyzes a wide variety of financial and operational data, delivering insights and solutions across the organization. Analyses can range from customer consumption patterns by geography to rate impacts
  • Develops reports, extracts, dashboards, and analytics packages.
  • Gathers requirements from CCCE staff and external consultants.
  • Builds pipelines to data vendors using APIs.
  • Administers data connectors to enable access to data platforms from project team tools (e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Excel, ArcGIS, etc.).
  • Develops and implements automated data retrieval, validation, cleaning, reporting, and metrics.
  • Document solutions and business processes.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • SQL in a professional environment, including writing queries and extracts.
  • Python in a professional environment, including, at a minimum, NumPy, pandas, and Matplotlib. Experience with Scikit-learn or seaborn is highly desirable.
  • Core statistical methods, such as correlations and regressions. Experience with advanced techniques such as cluster analysis and random forests is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with Tableau is highly desirable.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.


Ability to:

  • Research, analyze and interpret complex data; reach conclusions and make recommendations
  • Define problem areas and evaluate, recommend, and implement alternative solutions to complex issues and problems
  • Be detail oriented and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Work independently
  • Deal tactfully and maintain effective working and diplomatic relations with various levels of staff, the public, civic organizations, and representatives from government, industry, media, and other agencies
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for the rights of individuals and differences in people’s ethnic and cultural heritage, attitudes, beliefs, goals, and interests
  • Promote teamwork, a positive work environment, and collaborative problem solving
  • Work effectively under stressful situations involving tight deadlines, including ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours

Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge and abilities listed. A typical way to obtain the require qualifications would be:

Education
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, mathematics, economics, or a social science field with a significant quantitative analysis component.

AND

Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience.
Experience in the energy industry, Tableau, and Azure is highly desirable.

The starting salary will be commensurate with the experience, qualifications, and skills of the successful candidate.

Additional Information
