Wandering up the Champs-Elysees over the weekend, I of course had to stop in the 5 car showrooms. Plenty of other people were doing the same, and were also taking pictures.
Renault: Special exhibition on here, called “Passion Alpine”, with several cars from the “Renault Histoire & Collection” to see: The first Alpine, the A106, along with the mid 50s Renault 4CV. The renowned A110: The later A310: Le Mans winning A442: Couple of other racing Alpines: The upstairs of the Renault showroom has a bar and restaurant area, and I can vouch for the quality of the offerings. Very tasty, and with a view of those cars down below you, what stunning scenery!TOYOTA: The emphasis here, unsurprisingly is on their Hybrid technology. Upstairs, there was a cross-sectioned Prius. Downstairs, there were 3 vehicles. The first was the iQ, a concept car, as shown at Frankfurt, slated for production within the next 12 months:This one was unfamiliar to me, the UrbanCruiser: Final car is more well known, though, thankfully, not usually in this colour!PEUGEOT: The smallest showroom. There was a production 207SW in one corner, and some “ZenZOOM” weird thing in the middle that the snooty staff would not let you get close too, and this………. a 601:
MERCEDES-BENZ: A long with the boutique area, this showroom was just being used for production cars, including the latest model, the W204 C Class Estate: Otherwise, just familiar cars:
CITROEN: By far the most impressive display. On the ground floor, there was only one car, but it’s a good’un: Close investigation revealed that the basement had a couple of cars in it: However, then I realised that there were a whole series of cars on turntables, mounted one above each other. Here’s the overall effect:Splendid!2009-12-24 15:01:33
